Tella

Screen and camera recording that comes out edited, without opening an editor.

Screen and video recording In production 1 deep dive Last verified 18 Sept 2026

Tella records screen and webcam and applies the editing as you go: automatic layouts, zoom effects, silence and filler-word removal, backgrounds, transcript-based editing in 106 languages. Clips run up to six hours, exports go to 4K, and the Pro plan is thirteen dollars per user per month billed annually.

What it is for

  1. Record a demo that is publishable when you stopAuto layouts, auto zoom and backgrounds are applied live, so the export is the deliverable rather than the raw material.
  2. Cut by editing the transcriptRemoving a sentence from the text removes it from the video. It is the fastest way to tighten a talking-head recording without learning an editor.
  3. Strip the hesitations automaticallySilence removal, buffer removal and filler-word removal turn a first take into something watchable, which is what makes a single take viable.

What I measured

  • Published price, read 18 Sep 2026: thirteen dollars per user per month for Pro and nineteen for Premium, both billed annually. Their monthly figures are rendered as an animation and do not appear in the page text.
  • Premium is what removes Tella branding and adds a custom domain, which is the line between an internal recording and something sent to a client.
  • Clip length is capped at six hours and longer recordings are assembled from several clips, which is a constraint worth knowing before a long session.

What it is not for

  • You need a full timeline with multi-track audio and precise colour work. This is deliberately not that.
  • You are recording a two-hour interview with three remote guests at studio quality. Another tool in this category owns that job.
  • You are on a machine where a native Mac capture tool is all you need for a quick annotated clip.

What it costs, as the vendor publishes it

Pro 13 dollars per user, per month, billed annually unlimited videos, 4K export, 106 languages, team collaboration
Premium 19 dollars per user, per month, billed annually custom domain, branding removed, 60 FPS export, advanced analytics
Enterprise custom SSO and SCIM, onboarding, volume discounts
  • Priced per user, per month. The published figures are the annual ones.
  • Recording length is capped at six hours per clip, and clips combine for longer pieces.

No video on this one yet. When there is one it goes here, recorded on the real account. The page says so either way.

Questions people ask

Do I still need an editor?

For a demo, a walkthrough or a talking head, no. That is the whole proposition: the editing happens while you record, and the transcript handles the cuts.

Can I remove the branding?

On the Premium tier, along with a custom domain. On Pro the branding stays.

How long can a recording be?

Six hours per clip, and several clips combine into one piece.

Where is this the wrong tool?

Multi-guest interviews and anything needing local recording of each participant at broadcast quality. That is a different product.
