Record once, publish the same day: dropping the editing step on purpose
The reason your team stopped making videos is not the recording. It is the two hours afterwards that nobody has.
Tella Screen and video recording. Read the tool page for what it costs and what it is not for.Count the videos you meant to make this year and did not. The blocker is almost never the recording, which takes ten minutes. It is the editing: the trimming, the zooms, the removal of the part where you said um for four seconds, and the export settings. Two hours of work that has to be scheduled, and therefore never is. The category of tool that matters here is the one where the editing happens while you record.
What editing while recording means
Layouts that switch automatically between screen and camera. Zooms applied where the cursor is working. Backgrounds that make a home office look deliberate. Silence, buffer and filler-word removal applied as a pass rather than as a hundred manual cuts. None of this is as good as a skilled editor with a timeline. All of it is available at the moment you stop recording, which is the only fair comparison, because the alternative is not a better video, it is no video.
Editing the transcript instead of the timeline
Removing a sentence from the text removes it from the video. This is the single feature that makes a one-take recording viable for people who are not editors: you say the wrong thing, you keep going, and you delete the sentence afterwards by deleting the words. It converts video editing into a task that looks like editing a document, which is a task everyone already knows how to do.
It has limits. It cannot fix pacing, it cannot rescue a recording with no structure, and it will not make a bad explanation good. The structure still has to exist before you press record, which is the part no tool does for you.
Where the money is
Thirteen dollars per user per month for Pro, nineteen for Premium, both billed annually, read 18 September 2026. Their monthly prices are rendered as an animation and do not exist in the page text, which is a small thing worth knowing if you are comparing plans in a hurry.
The line that matters is between the two tiers: Premium is what removes the branding and adds a custom domain. That is the difference between an internal recording and something sent to a prospect, and if the videos leave the building, it is not an optional upgrade.
What it is not for
Multi-guest interviews where each side must be captured locally at broadcast quality. That job belongs to a dedicated recording platform, and trying to do it here will cost you the one recording you cannot repeat. Also anything needing real colour work, multi-track audio or precise sound design, which is a professional editor with a professional tool.
And it is not for a thirty second answer to a colleague. That is a native screen capture tool, a link, and no thought at all.
The constraint nobody mentions
Six hours per clip, with longer pieces assembled from several clips. That is generous for a demo and worth checking before a long session, because discovering a limit at the end of a recording is an unrecoverable kind of discovery.
The five minutes before you press record
Write the three things the video has to land, in the order someone needs them. That is the whole preparation, and it replaces the editing you are trying to avoid. A recording with a structure survives one take; a recording without one needs an editor to invent the structure afterwards, which is precisely the cost you were dodging.
The second habit is to stop re-recording. The instinct after a stumble is to start again from the top, and that is what turns a four minute video into an hour. Keep going, finish the thought, and delete the sentence from the transcript afterwards.
The habit this unlocks
Same-day publishing. When the export is the deliverable, a video becomes a thing you make in response to something rather than a project you plan. A customer asks a question, you answer it in four minutes on camera, and it is published before the conversation has cooled. That rhythm is the actual product here, and it is why the tool earns a place next to prospecting software that has nothing to do with video.
