Check the current price before you trust any directory

At least six pages ranking for this query on 25 September 2026 carried titles like Wispr Flow Pricing 2026, and several were published by the makers of competing dictation tools: spokenly.app, lumevoice.com, heymumble.com, getvoibe.com, weesperneonflow.ai. A price grid written by a competitor of the tool it compares is the situation this site exists to correct, so everything below was read at the source.

We run Wispr Flow on client accounts, and the grid below comes from wisprflow.ai/pricing, read on 18 October 2026. The page has Monthly and Annual tabs, and the annual column is where the real price sits: every paid tier is cheaper billed annually than monthly.

PlanPriceWhat you get
Free$0/moFlow for everyone, students and non-profits included
Pro$15/user/mo, $12 billed annuallyFor individuals and teams
Growth$23/user/mo, $18 billed annuallyBasic admin controls

One thing the grid doesn't show on its own: Flow is free for everyone, students and non-profits included.

Start free, and learn where the free plan stops

The free tier is for individuals. Team management starts on Pro, which is the one hard boundary the vendor draws, and it's the boundary that matters for anyone shopping for a team rather than for themselves.

Start the team on the free tier and move only the heavy writers to Pro. On the production account we run, dictation has reached 144 distinct applications, so a heavy writer isn't a job title: it's whoever's prose actually runs through those apps. The people who dictate twice a week never need a seat, and there's no trial clock running them down.

Dictation itself runs in more than a hundred languages.

What the free plan doesn't fix, and no pricing tier will: a room where talking out loud isn't an option. We haven't found a workaround for that on any account we run.

Code and symbols are the second limit, and this one has a workaround that works. Dictate the prose, type the code. The transcription handles long sentences and names well, and the symbols stay on the keyboard where they belong. If your writing is mostly code, the subscription buys you less than the pricing page implies.

We haven't measured a hard usage cap on the free plan on our accounts, and we won't invent one. In practice the free plan behaves as a decision device rather than a demo.

If you haven't chosen the tool yet, our review of dictation that finally works covers what it's good at and where it still fails. This page assumes the tool is decided and only the price is open.

Claim the discounts before you pay full price

Annual billing is the first discount, and it applies to every paid tier. Pro is 15 dollars per user per month on monthly billing, 12 dollars billed annually. Growth is 23 dollars monthly, 18 dollars annually.

The second is education. Students and educators with an education email get 50% off Flow Pro, and non-profits get a discounted rate. That line sits on the vendor's page, read on 18 October 2026, and it's the only percentage discount we can confirm from a first-hand source.

Read the billing line before the price line. The page shows both, and a price copied from the annual column without its billing term reads cheaper than it is. Third-party pages make that mistake constantly.

Private commercial terms don't belong on a pricing page, and we don't publish ours. Anything you can't verify on the vendor's own site shouldn't be trusted from a third party, including from us. What you can verify is above.

The full picture, including how the tool behaves in daily use, lives on our Wispr Flow listing, which carries the price with its own reading date.

Pick a tier by how many hours you dictate per week

The way to decide is your own dictation volume, and we have one account's numbers. On Louis's production account, the Flow Highlights dashboard, captured on 25 September 2026, shows 1,145,134 words dictated, an average of 113 words per minute, 144 distinct applications used, and a running streak of 27 consecutive days.

To turn that into a price decision you need a typing reference, and it doesn't get more credible than Aalto University's CHI 2018 study, the largest published typing study, which measured an average of 52 words per minute among ordinary users. At those two speeds, the same 1,145,134 words take 169 hours to dictate and 367 hours to type, a gap of 198 hours.

Pro billed annually is 12 dollars per user per month.

Three caveats, and they matter. And don't divide the 1,145,134 words by the 27-day streak: that's a running count, not the period over which the million words were dictated.

For scale on what a dollar buys elsewhere in a Mac setup: Paste, a clipboard manager, costs 2.49 dollars a month or 29.99 dollars billed annually.

Daily dictation across many apps is the case for Pro, and occasional dictation stays on the free plan, where the paid seat buys little you'll notice. If you're still assembling the rest of the setup, best Mac productivity apps covers what else stays running on client accounts. And the Wispr Flow page carries the current price with its reading date, so you can check it against the vendor's own grid before you pay.

Where these numbers come from

What people still ask

What does Flow Pro cost with annual billing?

Flow Pro is 12 dollars per user per month billed annually, against 15 dollars on monthly billing. Growth is 18 dollars annually against 23 dollars monthly.

Do students get a discount on Wispr Flow?

Yes. Students and educators with an education email get 50% off Flow Pro, and non-profits get a discounted rate. That's on the vendor's own pricing page, read on 18 October 2026.

Is the Wispr Flow free plan just a trial?

No. The free tier is a permanent plan for individuals, and team management starts on the Pro tier. In practice that means people who dictate twice a week never need a paid seat.

How much dictation makes Flow Pro worth paying for?

On one production account, the dashboard showed 1,145,134 words dictated at 113 words per minute, against a typing average of 52 words per minute from the Aalto University study. Pro billed annually is 12 dollars per user per month, with the caveat that dictation speed isn't finished-prose speed, so the real gain is lower.
